Happy May Day...

Oh yes, a day late even...

And, I'm sorry for that, but I had completely forgotten until I walked outside my door, and found this sweet little cone of fresh flowers hanging on my screen door!

I'm thinking my flower giver must have snuck up while I was in the shower...

and as I can recall,
singing...
loudly.

Oh yes, a song that had stuck in my head while I was out for my morning walk-about...So they indeed got a treat!

And as a special little gift for myself (because it's so very good to gift yourself on days such as these) I bought this wonderful Smashbox set of new summer makeup at CostCo.

Ok, to be fair, as I said before, I completely forgot about May Day...

I'm just the master of justification.

Ms. Dina and I had previously seen this set while we were visiting Costco for Wine and cheese...I mean, salad mix...and I have been thinking about it ever since.

It was an amazing deal, cause you know, Costco always has the best prices...plus, it's a great way to try some different product (and I practically paid the same amount for one eyeshadow that I paid for this set...see? Master justifier)

One of my favorite things in the set is this sweet little lip gloss...it comes with 2 great colors (did I mention that all the colors in this set go perfectly with my skin tone? Ok, Ok, I already bought it, I can stop now) and a mirror...

Plus, when you pull the center part out (also part of the locking mechanism) and push the end back in, it turns into a little brush applicator...and for those of you who have never put lip-gloss on with a brush?

It is an amazing feeling!

And, just to let you know exactly how excited I was about getting this...My other favorite thing in the set, that enormous and soft powder brush.
Well, the night before we both ran out there I had a dream that I had already bought it, and...well, I've never had too much confidence about applying make-up, and think both Dina and my sister are much better at the girlie than I am (because they both always look so amazing) so, I had asked Dina if she would help me figure out how I should apply all this new stuff (she's my surrogate sister since Thais is in CA)
and in my dream, she used the giant powder brush to apply the lip-gloss...

!

And this is after she's been assuring me this entire time that the brush would cost just as much as the entire set is if you buy it at Sephora (another master justifier this girl is)

So, I had to make her promise to NOT use the powder brush for the lip-gloss because it made it all greasy...

either that, or I'll have to get a new make-up artist...


PS. About the Hot date? Well, you know a lady never kisses and tells (wink wink)
PS. Thank you Liz...I always worry my house is decorated within an inch of it's life! And, I love to "do" my friends homes...
