The Sunset...

Last night was amazing...

I went for a little visit out to The Dells in the evening after work, and we decided to go try to capture some moths. I mean, photograph them (well, Rich was going to...my camera is a little more basic than his...he's got all these neat accessories, like lenses...and you know it's all about the accessories!) They are the sweetest little things (the moths, I mean, I like the lenses too...) flitting all over a bush with red flowers much like humming birds do, drinking the nectar of the flowers. I am excited to see his shots...

At any rate, while he was doing that, I was sneaking around in the rocks trying to capture all the beauty and color of the evening. It had been cloudy all day long, with no rain...and that can make for amazing sunsets when the clouds thin out at night.

I was also trying to dodge the mosquitoes. Man. They are serious out there. I actually feel them when they land (mostly) but the one's I don't I usually catch them before they're done, and let me just say...after you squish these baby's you need to wash your hands. Someone told me when I was younger, that if you squish them before they're done or watch them, and let them finish, you won't itch. I can't stand the thought of watching them do that though, so, squish it is...Mosquito interruptus.

The spectacular colors leave me yearning for something. I'm not sure what, but usually, a million memories of my life flit through my head, with me not being able to hang onto them...kind of a weird review slide-show.

I woke up to clear blue skies today, with the shadows just starting to look as if they're changing into fall...and with no energy to take my morning walk (leaving me to fall back into bed for a bit more rest) talking myself into waiting until this afternoon to walk...

Cause' nobody
needs to see my staggering around the neighborhood yawning and rubbing my eyes...

There could be one mosquito in the world and it would be in lower Africa and still find me.

Glad to read your "smiles"
